About Reg Mombassa
Chris O’Doherty (also known as Reg Mombassa) was born in Auckland New Zealand in 1951 and migrated to Australia with his parents and brother in 1969. He has exhibited paintings, drawings and prints at Watters Gallery in Darlinghurst since 1975. He has worked as a freelance designer of t-shirts and posters for Mambo Graphics since 1986. He is also a musician and song writer and was a member of Mental as Anything from 1976-2000. Currently he is a member of Dog Trumpet, a band he and his brother Peter formed in 1991. He is married with 3 children and lives in Sydney.
