Bluetooth II is the culmination of a new series of collages and drawings by Brooklyn based artist Panayiotis Terzis. This body of work combines imagery culled from stock photography, epic landscapes, photos of textures and objects taken by the artist himself, and imagery of medieval and archaic ruins from Greece, Bulgaria and the Mediterranean. An attempt to bring together the mythic and the idiotic, this zine is an homage to classical and archaic Greek sculpture, symmetry, total sensory overload, transcendence, dark power, and the collapse of the future into the mists of the past. It is a continuation of the dark narrative begun in Bluetooth, a 12 page newsprint zine recently published by Athens based group Dynasty.
Panayiotis Terzis was born in Thessaloniki Greece in 1983 and moved to the suburbs of the United States in 1990. His work has been exhibited in NYC, Providence RI, Columbus OH, Athens Greece, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Istanbul, and Montreal. He has been published in Salt Hill Literary anthology, Diamond Comics, Faesthetic, and Abstract Comics: The Anthology, recently published by Fantagraphics Books. His handmade artist book editions and prints are available at Printed Matter. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
