About Pete Burn
Pete Burn’s graphic art comes from his conflictual relationship with technology which is chosen as his method in fusing the organic with the fully digital. His main inspiration is taken from music which is then mirrored visually into complex architectural compositions. His artwork uses intricate textures of repeated shapes and psychedelic colours. The idea of dimensional movement or motion is in keeping with the ideas of Futurism and the layers of transparencies similar to the approach used by Ryan McGinness. Between figurative and abstract, the compositions play with ideas of asymmetry and rely on an extensive vocabulary of patterns, recognised as the ultimate, fundamental unit of creativity.
